Pisces - The Fish Sign

Today we decided to let Amelia try a big pool for the first time. We loaded up all the stuff (swimsuit, towels, extra diapers, sunhat, blow up turtle sun shade thing) and headed over to her Grandpa's house. Now remember that Miss Millie G was born under the Pisces sign which is symbolized by two fish swimming. Let's just say, swimming lasted all of 5 minutes before she'd had enough! I guess it's going to take a little while for the fish to come out in her!

Getting ready to get in... Still happy :)

In about 1 minute, still checking it out...

In about 3 minutes, sucking her thumb was the better option...

In about 5 minutes, "Daddy, get me outta here!!"

Getting Ready for a Stroll

Millie and I decided to take a stroll this morning. She got to try her stroller without the infant car seat, sitting up like a big kid!!

Ready to go with her sunhat on!

Check out that tongue!

FOOD!!

This week, we decided to try practicing with some food. So far we've only done it two days and we've only tried rice cereal. Amelia seemed to do much better today than she did on Monday, so I guess she's getting the hang of it. We'll probably do rice cereal for a few more days, then venture into the world of veggies!! Yum... strained peas for breakfast...

Getting ready...

Here it comes!

Yum!

Or errr Yuck!

Amelia's Four Month Checkup

Amelia's Stats:
Height: 25.25 (75%)
Weight: 16 lbs. 9.6 oz. (97%)
Head: 42 cm (75%)

Everything checked out great and she gave the Dr. a good right hook when he tried to clean out her belly button :P The doctor did give us a perscription for some topical stuff to help clear up some of her cradle cap spots (and man, was it expensive). Lesson learned there. Should have tried the Aquefor (sp?) stuff first :P

The Dr. said we can start foods any time we want between now and 6 mos. He says it's basically just for practice at this stage and not for nutrition, so have fun with it. We *Might* try it out starting next week to see how she takes to it.

Anyway, looks like she's quickly catching up to her cousin Kate. They are both healthy girls!! :)

Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto

I just had to share a pic of these cute pj's I found for Millie G. They are actually meant to be for boys (I guess because of the robot on the side), but I just couldn't pass up the bright orange! Now she matches her Iggy chair too :)

Happy Four Month B-Day Millie!

Here are some pics of some activities we've been doing so far today. At four months, Millie is having more and more fun with her toys. She really likes the ones that make the most noise. She also likes to lay in her crib and talk to herself and her crib buddies (the mobile). She has also learned how to rotate sideways and turn her Fisher Price Aquarium thingy on and off with her foot. She turned it on last night at around 11:00 p.m. so we had to go an actually flip the "Off" switch so it wouldn't keep her up. She still doesn't love tummy time, but she's getting better at it, especially if she's on the living room floor. She loves to stand up and just giggles and giggles every time you pull her into a standing position (this one is going to be trouble soon). We go to the doctor Friday for her checkup and next round of shots. We also get to start her on some foods this weekend! I think she's getting bored of the formula, so I'm glad about that.

Here's a shot of tummy time

The Weekend and Random Pics

On Sunday we took a trip out to Ft. Worth. First we made a pit stop at Granny and Papa John's house and then continued on to John and Mel's house to play with Ilsa.

Check out the devoted fathers...

These next pics are from the family reunion last weekend, but I just got the pics :)
